Managing Your Listings

This guide covers everything you can do with a listing after you create it: editing details, controlling availability, taking it offline, and removing it.

Where to find your listings

Go to Profile > My Listings to see every listing you've published. Each card shows the listing status, recent inquiries, and quick actions.

Editing a listing

You can update most fields on a published listing at any time:

  • Title, description, tags
  • Photos (add or remove)
  • Pricing (1-day, 3-day, 7-day rates)
  • Item value
  • Pickup location
  • Minimum and maximum rental period
  • Cancellation policy
  • Item condition

Open the listing from My Listings and click Edit. Changes save immediately and apply to all future inquiries. Existing accepted bookings keep the price and terms that were active at the time of acceptance.

Blocking specific dates

If your item is unavailable on certain days (you're using it yourself, you're traveling, the item is being repaired), you can block those dates on the listing's calendar.

  1. Open the listing
  2. Click on the edit ribbon then Block days
  3. Use the pop up dialog to block or remove blocked dates

Blocked dates are hidden from renters during the inquiry flow - they cannot select dates that overlap with a block. Existing bookings on dates you later block are not affected.

Editing photos

To change the photos on a listing:

  1. Open the listing and click Edit
  2. In the Photos section, drag-and-drop to reorder - the first photo is the cover image shown in search results
  3. Click the X on a photo to remove it
  4. Click Upload to add new photos

We recommend at least 3 photos: a clean cover shot, a wide shot showing the full item, and a close-up of any included accessories.

Pricing changes

You can change your rental rates at any time. New rates take effect immediately for new inquiries. Existing inquiries that have already been sent or accepted keep the original price.

Tip: if you find your listing isn't getting inquiries, the most common reason is price. Browse similar items in your area to see what they charge per day.

Taking a listing offline

There are three different ways to remove a listing from the marketplace, and they're not the same:

ActionWho can do itWhat happensWhen to use it
Block datesHostSpecific days are hidden from search; listing remains liveShort-term unavailability (a few days, a vacation)
UnpublishCurba admin (on host request)Listing is hidden from search and browse, all your settings are keptLonger breaks, item temporarily out of service
DeleteHostListing is permanently removedItem sold, no longer want to rent it ever

Requesting an unpublish

Curba doesn't currently have a self-serve "pause" toggle for hosts. To temporarily take your listing offline:

  1. Email support@curba.app with the listing title or URL and the request to unpublish
  2. The Curba team will hide the listing within one business day
  3. When you're ready to put it back online, email us again to republish

We're working on a self-serve pause feature - for now, email is the way.

Deleting a listing

If you want to remove the listing permanently:

  1. Open the listing from My Listings
  2. Click Delete listing (or the trash icon)
  3. Confirm - this cannot be undone

Deletion only works if there are no upcoming or active rentals tied to the listing. If you have an active booking, wait for it to complete or cancel it first per the cancellation policy.

Photos and listing approval

When you create or significantly edit a listing, the Curba team reviews it before it goes live. Approval typically takes less than 24 hours.

If your listing isn't approved, we will give reasons why it was not approved, you can send an email to support@curba.app to appeal this.

Common reasons listings need changes:

  • Photos are blurry, dark, or don't clearly show the item
  • The item is on Curba's prohibited list (firearms, illegal items, Cars, items requiring a special licence the renter doesn't hold)
  • Item value seems significantly off the realistic replacement value
  • Description is missing key details (what's included, condition, restrictions)
  • Title doesn't match what's in the photos

Tips for a healthy listing

  • Keep photos current. Re-take them if the item's condition changes or after a refurbishment.
  • Update the item value if it changes - this affects the deposit calculation.
  • Adjust pricing seasonally if your item has a peak season (camping gear in summer, ski gear in winter).
  • Block dates as soon as you know. Last-minute cancellations from your side hurt your reputation.
  • Respond to every inquiry - even declines. Renters can see your response rate on your profile.
